When he drives his car drunk, Mark loses his driver’s license and has to undergo an MPA. He meets Helena on the course and tries to get sober with her, but temptations lurk everywhere… After Mark’s first failed attempt to get sober, Helen mentioned that he only made it 27 days [00:41:50].
So no pun intended here as always
Then [00:42:35] in Mark’s apartment, the pinned calendar pages indicated that he had only been successful for 25 days. As with most if not all addictions, those affected cannot see it. And the film makes it clear from the beginning.
They even talk and tell our protagonist what he’s probably thinking
It doesn’t register with him – at least not to the point of helping him or making him change anything. Lau is a great actor, he really gives it his all. The story is predictable, but stick with it because you’re mesmerized by the performances — including the other players (to name just one Tschirner).
