In the film The Day of the Jackal (1973), The Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier generation model. I just finished watching The Day of the Jackal and it has quickly become one of my favorite shows. As a long-time movie buff, I’ve seen a lot of thrillers, but this one really stands out.
Eddie Redmayne is brilliant as The Jackal
The portrayal of this cold, collected assassin is captivating – he goes all out, completely dedicated to his mission. I was really impressed by how Redmayne made this character so tense yet controlled, his patience and concentration making The Jackal both terrifying and strangely charming. Lashana Lynch is also incredible as the intelligence officer who follows him.
The atmosphere of the show, combined with the amazing performances, makes it feel almost cinematic
She brings the perfect balance of strength and intelligence, always one step behind but determined to catch up. Together, their performances create this compelling game of cat and mouse that had me hooked from start to finish. I can’t wait for the next season – I don’t think I’ve felt this much anticipation in a long time!
It’s one of those rare moments where you can’t help but feel love for an assassin
