Season 1 was an original concept that stood on its own and was a hit, which can’t be said for the subsequent seasons. The best thing about Season 2 is the acting. The cast is absolutely incredible! What’s missing from Squid Game 2 is its refusal to resolve ANY of the many storylines this season. There are many ways to build suspense, but the laziest way is to simply refuse to answer the questions that have been posed for an entire season and only answer them in season 3. It’s pretty obvious that the series is now much less interested in telling a satisfying story and more interested in turning the franchise into a multi-season subscription retention machine. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
