David Kaplan: Yes
The mismatched cousins journey back to Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when tensions for the odd couple are rekindled by the backdrop of their family history. When Benji and David visit their grandmother’s house in Poland, the action takes place in Jesse Eisenberg; the real ancestors settled in the diaspora. Benji Kaplan: We move, we stay light, we are agile. Benji Kaplan: The conductor comes to collect our tickets, we tell him we’re going to the bathroom. David Kaplan: The bathroom.

I watched it in 2024
25, no. 3 in F major by Frédéric Chopin performed by Tzvi Erez. at the Sundance Film Festival. Jesse Eisenberg was previously a producer on “When You’re Done Saving the World”; it was interesting, but unfortunately a little annoying. The direction and screenplay of this film by Eisenberg show a great improvement, many interesting and engaging characters, good dialogue and great performances, especially Kieran Culkin who steals the show throughout the film. The story explores family history and complex relationships, as every theme and exploration is well explored, and also funny, emotional and engaging to watch.
Some of the soundtracks felt a little out of place
Plus beautiful camera work, good soundtrack and conversations that felt real, authentic and engaging to watch. Eisenberg’s approach to chemistry, structure, and pacing was spot on, as he crafted a really well-rounded, compelling, and personal story about family history and the true meaning of connection and relationships.
